We understand that this is a very stressful time for you, as your plans around your pregnancy and birth are forced to shift, and we're here to try to help.
Reduced fees for late entry to our care:
$3,500 for labor and birth at our Brownsville birth center, and $75 per 30-minutes of appointments.
$1,000 extra for home birth across the RGV
We're significantly reducing our regular global fee from $6,500 birth center/$7,500 home birth for those Holy Family clients who are already close to their delivery dates, to try to keep your costs down. We do not have an insurance biller, and are out of network with all insurance providers, unfortunately, and so we recommend that you contact an expert in filing midwifery insurance claims. One such person is https://napiermidwiferybilling.com/about/ Note: Blue Croos Blue Shield does not cover the midwifery services, but may cover birth center and lab work fees. Please check with an insurance biller to be sure.
We have secured an office in Mission for prenatal appointments:
To save those clients who would have a long drive to Brownsville from making the trip for every appointment, we've secured an office space in Mission. Birth would still need to be either in the birth center in Brownsville, or a home birth.
We'd love to have Holy Family staff work with us:
We understand that continuity of care is important. We would love to welcome Holy Family clinical staff to appointments and births, but ask for your patience while the staff adjust to the current situation. In particular, we're hoping that Jessica Sargent will be able to provide services as either a birth assistant or student midwife with us for everyone who would love to have her there, though this may not always be possible.
We're happy to work with whatever birth plan you have:
We're not Holy Family, but we do have birth pools, space for family, and most of the same medication and equipment (note: we cannot use Foley bulb catheters to manually dilate the cervix, as this is against state laws for CPMs). We practice in an evidence-based way, with an aim of being as low intervention as possible while remaining safe.

There are many other midwives in the RGV, and most are offering discounted services for late transfers from Holy Family, so please don't worry about calendars filling up and not finding a provider! I'm actively calling everyone to get their information, and will update this list as I get more details.
